Ten years after pictures from their low-key wedding went viral, a South African woman and her husband have announced that they are still blissfully wed.
You might remember that they got married without inviting any family members or friends, and pictures of them leaving the registry went viral online.
The Madi Maruping woman wore a simple wedding gown, while her husband wore a white shirt and pants.
Instead of throwing a celebration to celebrate their tenth wedding anniversary, the couple decided to take a well-earned trip together.
Madi claims that they had considered setting aside 100,000 for the anniversary party but ultimately decided to go on vacation instead.
She remarked that it was preferable to planning a gathering where they would have to feed 100 phony people who were acting delighted for them.
Madi wrote; “10yrs later still happily married, the plan was to have 10yrs wedding anniversary but budget it’s close to 100k..rather go on vacation than feeding 100 fake people in 1 day.”
