Joshua Olonitan, better known as Slim Joe, a Nigerian singer, died at the age of 30.
The ‘O ti Yanyan’ singer is said to have died on Sunday, January 2, 2022, after a long battle with kidney disease.
Raymond Gbaji, a colleague, confirmed his death on Facebook, where he also wrote a touching tribute to Olonitan.
Remember that the singer had a kidney ailment and needed N15 million for surgery to get back on his feet.
The entertainer, who dominated the airwaves with ‘O ti Yanyan’ and a slew of other hit songs and collaborations, was diagnosed with kidney failure and has been on dialysis for some time.
The versatile entertainer from Odo-Ayedun in Ikole Local Government Area of Ekiti State, had called for the kind support of Nigerians to raise the required amount to stay alive.
