Islamic cleric Sheikh Yusuf Abdullahi tackles an Islamic cleric Sheikh Ahmad who claims that Islam did not permit to offer prayer for late Murphy Afolabi due to the circumstances surrounding his career before his death.
Recalls that Sheikh Ahmad had earlier stated that Murphy Afolabi before his death promote traditional religion by playing the roles of Baba Alawo in movies.
The cleric emphasized that Murphy’s choice of roles in his movie career goes against God’s rules and wills, which categorizes him as an unbeliever.
Sheikh Ahmad emphasized that as an unbeliever who promotes traditional religion, he didn’t deserve to be prayed for by Muslims
He caption his video with, ” It’s a pity that some Muslims don’t know what’s going on in Yoruba movie even by watching it and can someone pray for whoever die on taking role of baba Alawo in a movie”
Cleric Yusuf Abdullahi, who is known for his progressive stance and intellectual contributions to the Islamic community, stepped forward to offer his perspective on the matter.
He stated that even though Islam didn’t support the late Murphy’s role in the movie, that didn’t make him an unbeliever because he practices all the five of Islam.
