Dr. Femi Olaleye, the Medical Director of the Optimal Cancer Care Foundation, has been sentenced to life imprisonment after being found guilty of defilement. He was accused of defiling a 15-year-old girl, who is the niece of his wife.
The Lagos State Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Court, which convened on Tuesday in Ikeja, concluded that the doctor had indeed sexually assaulted the 15-year-old girl. The decision was based on the consistency of the presented evidence, which strongly supported the victim’s account.
Justice Rahman Oshodi, presiding over the case, described Dr. Olaleye as a sex addict who had lied in court. The judge also deemed him a danger to society due to the gravity of the offense.
In delivering the verdict, Justice Oshodi stated that the evidence before the court unequivocally proved Dr. Olaleye’s guilt. Furthermore, he noted that the doctor had shown no remorse, making the life imprisonment sentence appropriate in this case.
