On October 14, the villagers and the forest animals were left in shock after a massive forest fire took place in West Kalimantan, Indonesia!
Due to the massive forest fire in the Putri and Pematang Gadung which are the protected areas with the largest orangutan populations, the apes were forced to move to the village to look for food and to survive.
However, instead of living a brand new life in the village, the apes became traumatized after the villagers threw stones to the orangutans.
A malnourished pair of orangutans was assisted by the International Animal Rescue. The orangutans were given several treatments to ease their trauma.
They claim that the villagers possibly threw stones to the orangutans because of the fear that they might hurt them.
