Kunle Afolayan Lament bitterly On How he Used To Look Forward To Christmas, But now that’s No Longer The Case.

Ace filmmaker, Kunle Afolayan has stated that people used to look forward to celebrating Christmas. The ‘Swallow’ producer said things have changed now.

“We all used to look forward to Christmas,” he says. However, things have changed a little in this age and time. I don’t have a strong attachment to it. It’s just another holiday, perhaps a time to spend with family and possibly travel with them. It’s not the Christmas I remember from my childhood. You won’t witness people slaughtering chickens in public any longer. And, of course, the carols we used to sing are no longer available. As a result, with this film, I’m attempting to recreate the carols of the time period. While discussing ‘A Naija Christmas,’ he told NetflixQueue, “I really enjoyed the experience.”

“Filmmaking is like the blood that flows through my veins,” he says. If the blood stops flowing, I’m dead. To me, film is more than just a source of income. It’s also more than a work of art. It gets my blood pumping for me. I’m even more challenged right now. Who am I to think I’ve accomplished or arrived if filmmakers like Spielberg, Scorsese, and Tunde Kelani are still making movies? “This is only the beginning.”
