How did she do it?

Adesua Etomi and Banky W are the latest talk and rave of the town. The celebrity couple made a big splash across the headlines when on the 22nd of February, on Adesua’s birthday, the couple announced that they had welcomed a bouncing baby boy.

Taking to his Instagram, Adesua’s husband singer Banky W wrote the sweetest message about the delivery of their baby boy saying:

Happy birthday to my lady, my love and Purpose Partner, My world, my wife and Baby Mama. I didn’t think it was possible for you to be more beautiful than you already were… but I was wrong. Because you’re not just beautiful, you’re strong. You’re grace and favour personified, and you’re so much more. Words cannot properly express how grateful I am for you, how much I love you, or what we’ve been through. I’m thankful that you’re mine And that God made everything beautiful in His time

He turned our tears into triumph, and our loss into laughter He’s changed our lives forever, here’s to the next (and best) chapter Nothing I can say or do can top what He gave us. My baby had a baby and he’s everything we prayed for

Happy birthday “Mama Zaiah” I love you SCATTER.

While everybody is happy and celebrating with the couple, many people are still in shock because throughout the duration of these last few months, neither Banky nor Adesua gave any indications whatsoever that they were expecting.

So how and why were they able to keep the secret for this long? Well, it seems Adesua had been dropping hints all along but we never caught them. Let’s talk about it!

On why She Chose To Keep it Private

Adesua Etomi decided not to share the news of her baby boy until her birthday on the 22nd of February because she wasn’t yet comfortable with revealing that information.

In an interview with Genevieve Magazine, Adesua once said:

People share what they are comfortable with and withhold what they’d rather keep private.

This is the logic she applied in making this decision. Although holding back the information wasn’t always easy as was evident even from her own tweet she made just last month on January 14th. She said:

Social media has taken me to a different level of self restraint. God has used it to teach me WELLA. I type and then I get a check in my spirit and I delete. It’s not easy.

With something like pregnancies, it’s a very delicate time and a very personal time as well. I understand why she might have wanted to keep this time private and I’m happy for how she delivered the information right at her own time.

How She Kept it Private.

2 answers.

1.) Very close group of trusted family and friends, and 2.) Backdated pictures and closeups of face.

As regards to the first, Adesua’s family and friends are very trustworthy as none of them let the secret slip. Big kudos to them.

And 2, if you noticed, when she Adesua posted full body pictures, they were always older pictures from older photosets that she had posted in the past. All of her newer pictures were closeup pictures of her head, videos of just her head, or at most pictures from the chest up.

For me personally, the time when I knew something was up was during the #EndSARS protest when somebody asked Adesua why she wasn’t protesting and she tweeted:

You don’t know peoples situations. Let those that can go out go out, let those that can tweet tweet, let those that can Instagram, post. Focus on the people doing absolutely nothing, like THE NIGERIAN GOVERNMENT.

This definitely made my ears stand and I knew something was up with her and I guessed she was pregnant, especially when she only started posting only those head pictures.
