Two Renowned Nigerian Women Makes The 2021 Forbes List Of ‘The World’s 100 Most Powerful Women’

The list which had some of the most renowned women in the world being included had two Nigerian women making the list.

These two women are renowned media personality, Mo Abudu and the current director-general of the World Trade Organization, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala.

Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala

The renowned economist was the 91st most powerful woman in the world. The 67-year-old personality made headlines after she became the first woman and the first African to serve as Director-General of the World Trade Organization. Before becoming the WTO boss, she had two terms as Nigeria’s Finance Minister, from 2003-2006 and 2011-2015; she also briefly acted as Foreign Minister in 2006. She was also Chair of the Board of Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance that has immunized 760 million children globally.

Mo Abudu

Mo Abudu is a Nigerian business mogul. She is the 98th most powerful woman in the world. She is the founder of Ebonylife TV which is a network that now airs in more than 49 countries across Africa, as well as in the UK and the Caribbean. She was born in London but sent by her parents to live with her grandmother in Nigeria when she was 7; she returned to Britain four years later.
